Advertising Opportunities

TopGuidebook Advertising Opportunities

There will be advertising opportunities in the guidebook (see why below). However, rates and spaces have yet to be determined. The book’s progress is moving forward at a steady pace but overall the book is not far enough along to start defining ad quantities and rates yet.

In the meantime, I have been adding interested companies to a first-come first-serve list. If you would like to advertise, please send a message to Wesley Gooch via this website’s contact page. Make sure you note which chapter you would prefer to be in (refer to the Table Of Contents).

I’ll post the ad rates and spaces as soon as they have been determined. Feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.

TopWhy Will There Be Advertisements?

To Make The Book Financial Feasible

I’d rather there not be any advertisements in the guidebook. I made sure this was the case for the 1st edition. However, the 2nd edition is an entirely different monster altogether. The standards have been raised considerably higher for this run to press. If there where no ads, the book would never materialize.

The 2nd edition will be printed:

  1. In full color.
  2. Full bleed.
  3. On quality coated photo paper.
  4. Using a highly durable stitched binding and with a thick cover.
  5. The book’s quality’s will be similar to that of the Red River Gorge Rock Climbs guide and the Bishop Bouldering Guide by Wolverine Publishing.

This level of quality accompanied with the fact that the local climbing community’s demand probably won’t exceed 1,500 to 2,000 copies for the next few years means there will be a small press run and a high production price per unit. To counter this cost, there will be ads in the guidebook. At this point, the number of ads and their price schedule has yet to be determined.
